A major aerospace client is seeking an Senior Design engineer reporting to the Principal Design Project Engineer JOB DESCRIPTION: To carry out and/or control an assigned task or project, from instigation through to completion, in either a Focal or lead design/certification role, in accordance with Company procedures. The tasking, supervision and motivation of both permanent and sub-contract staff assigned to the same project as he/she may be involved with or Focal for, as required, To initiate and attend design reviews and progress meetings, and liase with the customer, interfacing departments, sub-contractors or suppliers as required. To exercise responsibility as an authorised airworthiness and checking signatory. SKILLS REQUIRED: EDUCATION Essential - HNC/HND in appropriate subjects. Engineering apprenticeship (preferably aeronautical), Desirable - An appropriate engineering degree. EXPERIENCE Essential - Should have a minimum of 10 years mechanical design experience in the aerospace industry, with a working knowledge of a recognised CAD System. An understanding and experience of current civil aerospace . certificafion requirements, and in particular, EASA Part 21 Subpart J, and other relevant requirements Desirable - Previous experience as an airworthiness checking signatory for a minimum of 7 years at Senior Design Engineer and Design Engineer levels. Should have a sound working knowledge of CAD systems such as AutoCAD 2004/6, Autodesk Inventor, Catia Pro/E or Solid Edge and be conversant with Microsoft Office.
