Team Process Engineer Location: Wolverhampton Permanent Salary up to 28k A leading Aerospace manufacturer are looking for a process engineer with experience in treatments and NDT techniques. The role involves technical expertise and coaching to improve processes and improve productivity. Essential Responsibilities: The Process Engineer role is a technical support role. The job is technically based regarding heat treatment, plating, painting and practically/technically based regarding NDT & inspection. The successful applicant will report directly into the NDT Level III/Process Engineer for the achievement of cell technical objectives, providing technical support to the processing cell team, promoting & supporting improvement activities and supporting production on inspection & NDT. Technical Support Day to day support of the treatments team. Compilation of data cards and technique sheets. Corrective planning alterations. Technical/practical advice and coaching. Conducting training and audits. Supporting team continuous improvement initiatives Liaison with sub-contractors to support offload. Supporting productivity improvements. Compilation of salvage paperwork. Logging, reviewing and identifying route cause of scrap and rectification work. Assisting Nadcap audits and ensuring compliance with appropriate Nadcap check lists. Perform supplier audits. Raising shop queries when required to improve processing methods. Assist NDT Level III with NDT duties. Generation of capex justifications. Arrange for design, development and purchasing of jigs & fixtures. Inspection/NDT Support Assist production in NDT disciplines when required. Assist production in inspection areas when required. Qualifications/Requirements: Possess HNC/Degree in engineering/science based subject or have time served apprenticeship & relevant experience or equivalent job knowledge and experience. Qualification to Level II NDT in MPI, FPI & EI would be an advantage. Experience and practical knowledge of an aerospace environment. Experience of working to and knowledge of aerospace specifications. Be capable of creating computer generated reports.
