Senior Buyer My client has extensive capability in the design and manufacture of motion technology products to meet the requirements of todays state-of-the-art aerospace and defence programmes. Scope of Role: Providing a complete supply chain solution to provide material in line with production requirements for new projects within the NPI process or from MRP output. Main Duties/Responsibilities · Working with Sales/Engineering/Production/Demand Management teams to ensure QCD targets are met in full. · Responsible for all procurement activities relating to all new projects for the Penge site. · Quality - Zero defects · Cost - Reduce the material cost designated in the Bid phase (target to be set by project) · Delivery - 98% on time against required date · To maintain a disciplined approach to business in accordance with the companys AS9100 systems · Support the production Buyers in Penge with regard to material supply, at times of risk · Work closely with the supplier quality engineer for the upkeep of the ASL, monitor supplier performance. Other Responsibilities/Non-essential Functions · Undertake training that is identified as a requirement of the role as identified by the role Manager. · Undertake all other reasonable requests that are made by the role manager/acting manager or Directors. · At times of reduced department staff attendance there will be a need to be flexible and provide support outside of the normal tasks of the job to ensure customer satisfaction. · On occasion you maybe required to take on ad hoc duties which includes, but is not limited to training, department associated tasks and brief secondment to other departments. Formal Qualifications 5 GCSEs including Maths and English or equivalent Qualified Member of CIPS Skills Essential: ·Significant IT skills · Good command of the English language and very articulate · Good presentation and communication skills to groups of around 10 people · Proven negotiation skills Desirable: · Working knowledge of Contract Law · Lean tools i.e. value steam mapping Experience · A proven track record of meeting targets for Quality, Cost and Delivery · Able to demonstrate a commercial aptitude · Full understanding of regulatory requirements appertaining the supply of product for the Aerospace industry · Experience of working within a manufacturing environment · Working within a ?Lean environment
