Principal/Senior Transport Planner Outline of role The principal role will be to deal directly with clients in supporting their progress toward securing planning permission for their development sites. The chosen candidate can expect to be active on a number of projects at any given time and will be supported by experienced technical staff on various grades to whom you will delegate and manage on a project to project basis. The position will also involve day to day management of a team of support staff, client liaison and potentially business development for the right candidate and therefore represents an exceptional opportunity for carrier development. The position will report to an Operations Manager. Qualifications required The candidate is required to have HND in Civil Engineering with significant post graduate experience in the Transport Planning field. Experience required You will be an experienced transport planner with extensive knowledge of the planning process including Structure Plans, and all government policy. You will be versed in the preparation of Travel Plans, Transport Assessments and associated studies together with undertaking negotiations with highway authorities. You will have a good understanding and expertise in the assessment and prediction of both car and non - car based travel patterns. You will have a sound knowledge of preliminary highway design, junction design and analysis, traffic software (TRICS, ARCADY,OSCADY, LINSIG etc.), traffic management techniques and design guidance so as to enable you to delegate to and accurately interpret the work of others.
