A brand new position has been created at one of the UKs best known brands.
Due to company expansion a position has been created as a shift leader in their Manchester based IS Operations team. The operations team ensure the BAU operational support of equipment, schedules and infrastructure components associated with production and development environments across the company.
As shift leader you will be responsible for managing a small team of operators ensuring production schedules are met, equipment is maintained and to have overall responsibility for the data centre outside or normal working hours. You will also be responsible for staff development, appraisals and training.
Initially this role is 50% hands on technically although over time and as the team grows the role will become less hands on. You should have solid and demonstrable experience of UNIX, Intel and Symantec Netbackup 6.5. Puredisk experience would be a definite advantage. You will also have experience of leading a team in a highly pressurised environment supporting multiple teams on different sites.
This team is earmarked to grow in the future in terms of size and responsibility so this is an excellent opportunity to get involved at the start of this expansion.
