Principal Engineer
Outline of role
The candidate will act as a principal engineer within the Glasgow systems division. Main duties will include the planning and managing the delivery of the technical and financial elements of a project (including resources time and cost) either alone or through multi-discipline project teams, with line management responsibility for a team of engineers and technicians of varying experience and providing managerial and technical support.
The candidate will organize and control his/her own work load and on larger projects managing other engineers who will be assisting in producing the required documentation. The candidate will be capable of liaising and controlling input from other associated disciplines e.g. MCC and electrical design, Process design or Mechanical design.
The candidate must possess the inter-personal skills to liaise with our customers and their suppliers.
Qualifications required
Ideally the candidate should have an honours degree in electrical/electronic engineering or any degree where instrumentation, automation and control systems are part of the main course.
Experience required
Ideally the candidate should have a sound knowledge of all water and waste water treatment processes including pumping schemes and storage.
Candidates with other process knowledge will also be considered.
Experience of ICA and telemetry design and the following technologies would also be advantageous:-
. Siemens S7 range of PLCs
. Siemens HMI and SCADA products
. Other PLC and SCADA systems e.g Allen- Bradley etc.
