Business Development Manager

Job Outline: Reporting to the Marketing Manager, responsible for developing opportunities with a range of clients whilst contributing to the Company order intake by meeting commercially oriented business targets. Experience of this type of work, while desirable, is not as important as enthusiasm, energy and determination. Training will be provided and the guidance of experienced Business Development Managers will be available.
Key Responsibilities: Build relationships with key clients, develop opportunities through from prospect stage, via pre-qualifications and tenders, to successful contract award, project execution and satisfied customers.
Cumbria will be the main focus, but a very important part of the work will be to develop business in the rest of the North West region. Mobility and the ability to travel are therefore very important.
Develop/prepare annual marketing plans and winning bid strategies.
Work with Bid Managers and Operations staff in making bid/no-bid decisions and prepare detailed strategies for tenders. Contribute to tender preparation and ensure adherence to these strategies during tender exercises. Understand and be familiar with competitors and key suppliers.
Maintain knowledge of clients intentions, programmes and budgets to assist in the Companys forward planning.
Desirable Aptitudes and
Experience: With a technical or commercial background applicants should possess the ability and confidence to meet clients at all levels and present the clients capabilities in all of our core competencies.
Good communications skills and the ability to organise and lead effective presentations.
Experience within the Nuclear services industry is paramount.
