Job title: Health and Safety Consultant Alternative job titles: Health and Safety Adviser, Health and Safety Manager, Health and Safety Officer Location: Nottingham (NG postcode) Salary: Up to £35k + Benefits Offering health and safety services to clients through site visits, client meetings, verbal & written reports and update of client documentation. There is a varied project range with companies crossing all industry sectors including retail, commercial, manufacturing, engineering, hospitality and leisure. The health and safety consultant will analyse company policy and procedure to ensure regulatory and best practise compliance. Through inspection and audit the consultant will make recommendations for corrective action to remedy any areas of non-compliance. The consultant will be involved in developing health and safety policy and procedure, where required, and produce specific health and safety risk assessments and method statements. The Health and Safety Consultant will also offer advice and guidance on health and safety management systems, including OHSAS18001. Applicants should hold strong skills of communication and have the ability to enthuse and influence at all levels of an organisation. Holding a NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent qualification) applicants will have a strong theoretical knowledge of health and safety to support their practical knowledge and ability to offer usable solutions. Ideally applicants will have previous health and safety consultancy experience, however, applications are welcome from commercially aware health and safety professionals with an understanding of fee earning consultancy work. Previous experience of developing and delivering OHSAS 18001 health and safety management system would be an advantage, but is not essential.
