Our client’s nursery aims to provide a positive start to the children’s journey through early learning and development. They endeavour to provide all children with a unique environment that will facilitate all of their developmental needs but overall a nursery where the children feel loved, safe and secure.
We are recruiting for a Deputy Manager/Room Leader to work Full Time in our client’s nursery
The Deputy Manager will support the Manager in maintaining the organisation of the running of the nursery. They will need to be regularly updated on the nursery policies. They will be actively involved in all area of running the nursery including, staff rotas, transition of children between classrooms, maintaining high nursery occupancy, maintaining the appearance welcoming environment of the nursery.
The Deputy Manager will be room based and will be assigned a group of key children
The Deputy will be responsible for the staff team and ensure that the team is motivated and hardworking and meeting their targets.
They must also meet parents’ reasonable needs as appropriate. They must ensure communication of policies and good practice to parents, and make sure they are aware of new developments. In consultation with the Manager, the Deputy must be proactive and seek to resolve parents’ concerns and complaints promptly.
An ideal room leader will be a highly experienced and confident nursery practitioner, capable of planning for the individual needs of the children and overseeing the twos to three room; leading and managing a small team to ensure the high standards of the setting are upheld.
* Be able to show evidence of ongoing personal development, training and to be interested in further training
* Have experience working within a range of under 5 age groups
* Have a good understanding and knowledge of the current EYFS and Ofsted requirements
* Be able to proactively observe and plan suitable activities with regards to each child’s individual needs and interests.
* Previous room leader experience is essential.
The successful applicant will be passionate and confident about working in childcare in such a way that engages and stimulates children and inspires staff. Good communication skills with children, parents and colleagues are required as well as the ability to work in a thriving team.
Applicants must have at least a Level 3 childcare qualification, and have good knowledge of the current EYFS. Experience of working in an early years setting will be an advantage.
Salary is £16750
