Display Advertising Sales Executive Suitable Candidate: The successful candidate must have a proven track record within a telesales environment. Ideally you will have sold advertising space before, however any strong telesales background will be considered.
Role Purpose: The role of a Classified Advertising Sales Executive is responsible for the maintenance and development of existing business and the acquisition of new business in line with specific Company business objectives. Role Context: Whilst the Advertising Sales Executive must be able to work on their own initiative, you will be supported by the Group Advertising Director and the rest of the magazine team who are all working towards the same objectives. Your role will report directly into the Group Ad Director. Key Accountabilities Performance Measures Maintaining & developing existing business by forming positive relationships with current clients through contacting them on a regular basis Volume/space sold per month Revenue generated per month Maintaining all records. This includes completing daily call reports and ensuring that client records are kept up-to-date. In addition the sales charts and boards must be updated regularly. Clear concise records that can be used and understood by other colleagues. These must contain only factual information and must be updated as soon as a call has been made. Completing all administrative tasks within the set timetablesAll admin completed and passed to relevant member of staff within required timescales To seek out and actively acquire new business. Search through competitor titles to help source new business and develop a competent sales story against them. New Business Revenue generated per month To increase / maximise the revenue, volume, marketshare and yield from existing and new clients Increases in overall volume, yield, revenue & marketshare from your clientbase 60 calls per day should be attempted with 20 of these being effectiveEffective calls are ones where at least one sales point has been put across by the sales person and been accepted by the client - use the sales system to allocate non or effective calls To ensure no ads appear without the relevant signed order confirmations / purchase orders first being received There being as few queries regarding your clients as possible To act promptly on any credit control query on your own client base to help solve any problems All queries to be resolved within72 hours. Competencies The ability to communicate with all levels of personnel in order to maximise the opportunities for gaining business Basic sales skills, and the ability to adapt skills to any given situation, again to ensure that all effort is focussed on developing customer relationships in order to make a sale Achieving and exceeding sales targets must motivate the individual High levels of awareness of customer cares issues and the ability to apply with all customers, current and potential The role requires the individual to be organised and able to maintain all of their records to a high standard. Flexibility and a high level of initiative are essential
General The hours of work are 9.15am - 5.30pm, Monday to Thursday . 4.15pm on a Friday. All holiday must be booked 48 hrs in advance. 1st Year 25 Days holiday. All absences of three days or more must be supported with a doctors note. All assessments are to be properly prepared for - they are in place to discuss your work and be used as a focus for future development. Central and be-spoke sales training must be attended unless illness prevents this. All training is in place to facilitate your progress in the company.
