Sub-Contract Buyer - This role would Ideally someone with Experience in Sub-Contract buying or a Quantity Surveyor who enjoys the element of their role.

Purpose of the role
To deliver procurement requirements to Work Winning and Project Delivery teams. To negotiate and place orders and contracts for materials and services. Business strategy states that Supply Chain will be delivered through Strategic and Operational procurement supported by Category Management. This role will lead operational procurement on either work winning, a single project or a series of smaller projects.
· Identify enquiry packages, prepares and issues. Able to source and apply appropriate procurement routes
· Applies Category Management strategy, working with the Category Managers to achieve this. Complies with all corporate Supply Chain processes & procedures
· Carries out quotation analysis, evaluation and selection of vendors, presents Tender Reviews / Recommendation Reports to Project Management Teams
· Leads subcontract and major supply pre-let meetings. Prepares and places significant subcontract and major material supply orders. Manages and closes out strategic tender and contract negotiations. Closes out Subcontract

· Support to the Supply Chain Work Winning function as required, also drafts Supply Chain submission documents for prequalifications and tenders (where applicable)
· In consultation with a Project team, prepares Supply Chain Strategy and Implementation Plan at both work winning and project delivery stage. Prepares, manages and co-ordinates the Tender Event Schedule/Procurement Programme. Expedites quotes and deliveries, solves problems in Subcontract/Supply Management
· Achieves targets set by Supply Chain Manager and/or Supply Chain Director and prepares and presents reports in a timely & accurate manner
· The role will include an interface with both internal and external clients.
· Contributes to the training and development of reporting individuals. Monitors Vendor performance. Increases performance levels
· Your line management reporting will be through Supply Chain
