Senior Java J2EE Web Developer

THE ROLE
My client requires Senior Java Developer with extensive web skills to join a busy development team working on large business critical applications.
Daily duties will include but are not limited to:
Develop Java/J2EE solutions to meet agreed specifications. Improve, enhance and correct systems as necessary.
Coach and mentor junior members of the team.
Undertake complex testing activities in relation to software solutions ensuring these meet agreed specifications.
Document systems and produce desk procedures for ongoing user use.
Provide End user / 3rd level Help Desk support when necessary.
Assist with user testing and training ensuring effective deployment and sign-off by users & minimal errors post-implement.
Maintain an understanding of best practise initiatives within J2EE area, and IT in general.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
Proven commercial experience in Java/J2EE development in a fast paced environment.

OO Design and Development
Experience in taking a lead role in development projects
Excellent communication skills
Ability to think on your feet and be proactive as well as reactive
