Our client is one of the major oil & gas service companies. They have a large manufacturing capability which is enjoying enourmous success at present. Due to this, they require a Manufacturing engineer to fulfill the following:
-- Engage in assessing the manufacturing process, assisting in determining plant requirements to maintain safety, quality and cost effective manufacture, eliminating non-value adding business activities/processes; assisting in implementing initiatives to improve all aspects of the process contributing to the reduction of costs and improved process flow.
-- Engage in assessing production requirements to support continuous improvement, supporting and facilitating initiatives as required.
-- Participate in review of existing working practices. Recommend and implement production process improvements, update/write the process & train accordingly.
-- Participate in the provision of feedback in relation to the improvements, developments and safety of the manufacturing process.
-- Develop ability to give professional presentations when required to support management and sales strategies.
-- Assist in Development and implementation of strategies that enables statistical techniques to be deployed across the business; machine capability, process capability, factual data when investigating quality or performance investigations.
-- Assist in Reporting scrap figures and driving of reduction initiatives.
Support manufacturing areas in developing Housekeeping Procedures that include TPM and Visual Controls
-- Participate in the specifications for capital equipment procurements.
-- Support the introduction of new and innovative process improvements to BoD manufacture.
-- Assist in the management of consumable tooling utilisation and application toward cost effective use.
-- Work with Purchasing and production on planning and management of waste metal management to maximise recovery value.
-- On occasion, provide shift cover in other areas of the manufacturing process
-- Other Special projects as required
