A Project Management Group Manager (PMG Manager) is required for a world leader in defence and Communication Systems. As PMG Manager you will deploy project managers within the company across a number of diverse projects and programmes. You will recruit coach, mentor, develop, reward and motivate members of the PMG, manage the lifecycle review boards, act as facilitator to the projects and work with France and Germany to define and roll out project management best practice CMMI/SCOPE08. Key responsibilities will be; Manage delivery of UK project manger resource to meet customer requirements Improve UK project delivery Develop and sustain project management best practice Monitor budgets, milestone targets and reports for change programme Identify training needs analysis and implement the implementation plan Make most efficient use of the resources available to the project Report status including risk, issues, opportunities, resources, forecast, capability shortfalls The ideal candidate is likely to have experience in communications, IT or engineering design, development and implementation projects, and experience in functional management. A broad knowledge of operations management is highly desirable as is knowledge and experience of major systems or telecommunications rollout in Prime Subcontract SI and LSI roles.
