Senior IT Security Technician

Your main role will be to take day-to-day responsibility for all aspects of our IT security systems including Firewall, Web Content Filtering, IDS, Spam Filtering and ISO 27001 compliance. The ideal candidate would also be able to take responsibility for the administration of our UNIX/Linux systems.

Specific responsibilities
-- To play a key role in the analysis of requirements, and setting of policy in respect of IT security including liaising with users and managers across the company.
-- To evaluate alternatives and prepare recommendations for the implementation of new IT security related systems including Firewall, Web Content filtering, IDS, Spam Filtering and ISO 27001 compliance.
-- To take day-to-day responsibility for the implementation and maintenance of our IT Security systems.
-- To provide 2nd Line Support for our user base on all aspects of our UNIX/Linux environment.
-- Manage and maintain UNIX/Linux environment including Apache and FTP Servers.
-- Licence management via FlexLM of UNIX/Linux applications.
-- Undertake familiarisation sessions with new recruits on use of systems and Cambridge Consultants procedures as needed.

Minimum requirements
-- Proven ability to implement and support IT systems.
-- A working knowledge of ISO 27001 and/or IT security best practices would be an advantage.
-- Knowledge of, or an interest in, Linux/UNIX systems.
-- Knowledge of Windows in a networked environment.
-- A recognised industry qualification, eg, MCSE, A+ would be an advantage.
-- Demonstrable ability to understand user needs and select suitable solutions in an IT environment.
-- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
-- The ability to work well within a small team is essential.
-- Good organisation skills.
-- Self motivated.
