Due to a number of recently awarded projects they are currently building a GIS division to service a range of projects with the aim of making GIS a core part of the companys services.
Purpose of role:
The purpose of this role is to address the overall spatial information needs of the programme. This includes ensuring that the GIS and collaboration solutions are delivered on time, to budget and realise the intended operational benefits.
Key areas of responsibility:
The GIS manager will be responsible for:
· Coordinating with other delivery and project teams to understand their processes, procedures, and data requirements
· Providing expert advice on the capabilities of geographic information systems and identifying how the platform can enhance the performance of the project teams
· Responsible for identifying and delivering the necessary spatial information system tools and applications to support the programmes spatial information needs.
· Responsible for production, management and communication of all relevant spatial information standards, policies and procedures
· Identification and procurement of data sources
· Development and maintenance of spatial data stores to support the programme requirements
· Quality assurance of relevant consultant/contractor submissions
· Coordinating with the IT delivery team to ensure that the GIS solutions delivered meet user expectations
· Work with the IT delivery team to ensure that the SLAs for the GIS application in production are achieved
· Planning and co-ordination of GIS solution deployments (Software deliveries, upgrades etc.)
· Management of the finances for the GIS solution deployment and support
· Co-ordinating the provision of Ad-Hoc reports
· Reviewing and advising on the PMIS solution requirements as a whole to plug gaps and eliminate duplication.
· Preparation of management reports as required.
Skills / knowledge required:
· Experienced in ArcGIS
· Experienced project manager
· Experienced in Financial management and business case development
· Sound understanding of all aspects of the software delivery life cycle
· Good communication skills.
Qualifications required:
· Project Manager with a minimum of 10 years experience
· Previous GIS experience on construction projects
