Note that this is not an I.T. helpdesk/support position. The Technical Support team assists their developers and customers with issues involving the use of my clients software, servers and APIs, as well as associated third-party map data products. In doing so, issues arise that need to be identified, investigated and resolved, either directly by the Technical Support Engineer or by working with members of the larger development team.
These are followed through to resolution while managing the relationship with the reporting customers. In addition to all of the direct work with customers, the team does internal design work with our developers as products are being developed and maintained, again representing the best interests of both current and future customers.
To be considered for this post, you are required to have the following:
    * Background in software and application (end-user) product development and support
    * Expertise in GIS software, cartographic data, LBS, applications is preferable
    * Demonstrable technical expert with hands-on experience of software development and delivery process
    * Candidates are required to demonstrate outstanding communication skills
    * Must be good at explaining and teaching, and would be prepared to lead full training sessions
    * Experience working with and managing international customers
    * Customer-focus; a belief in building relationships and working as partners
    * Programming experience in C, C++ and Java is preferable
    * Understanding and appreciation of Web 2 technologies particularly XML, JavaScript, AJAX and Web Services
    * Bachelors or Masters degree in computer science or engineering preferred
    * Willingness to travel to customer sites as required
    * Flexible approach to working out of traditional office hours
