Principal Consultant - Business Development
Salary - £40,000 - £65,000 + additional benefits

Our client is an independent, broad based environmental and planning consultancy that works with a wide range of clients in the private and public sector. They provide technical, project and strategic services through four main business streams: Environment, Planning, Regeneration and Consulting.
The company was formed in 1997 and has grown significantly since this time. They are now looking for Principal Consultants to help manage existing high profile projects and programmes including Thameslink programme, Shard of Glass, Airtrack, DLR Dagenham Dock Extension and Defra Research Contracts. In addition, this is a key role in helping secure the companys ambitious growth programme and represents an excellent opportunity for a career-minded Senior Manager looking for an exciting new role.
Reporting to the Development Director, your key focus will be ensuring delivery of the companys vision and objectives. You will be responsible for allocating resources to bids and project delivery, and work closely with the Technical Directors in securing new business and helping develop ?centres of excellence? in line with the Company Business Plan. You will also be responsible for the senior consultant team and associated recruitment, performance appraisals and personal development plans.
The ideal candidate for this role will have professional qualifications (relevant degree/diploma). Experience within the environment and planning sectors is essential, as well as membership of the relevant Professional Organisations. Experience at senior management level (a minimum of 3 years experience) is essential and you must be able to demonstrate a proven track-record in project delivery as well as an ability to work in a multi-disciplinary environment. You will have good negotiating and commercial skills and be adept at securing large-scale high-value work. The right person for the role must be confident, energetic and outgoing with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise at all levels.
