An Estimator within this M&E Contractor is required to provide detailed and accurate cost estimates to support formal tenders and client budget requirements based on drawings and specifications for a wide range of commercial and industrial projects using an industry specific software package. The process includes interpretation of information provided and the application of the proposed installation methods, which deliver best value solutions and maximise opportunities to secure work at price levels which provide realistic commercial return. You will be involved in this process from conception to bid completion and handover to project teams. This process requires close contact with designers, suppliers and other specialists in order to identify innovated solutions, which introduce commercial and practical advantage to price proposals. A basic understanding of installations systems through practical experience together with sufficient technical knowledge is essential. The role also requires the candidate to have a knowledge of design systems. Experience on site can be through a trade qualification such as JIB Grade Status. Your standards of technical knowledge will usually be through formal qualification. Subject to your experience, a minimum requirement is the C&G C certificate, but the preferred requirement is HNC Electrical Engineering or Building Services.
