Java Technical Manager - Security Cleared
A major defence organisation seeks a Java Technical Manager to join their team in Middlesex, South East UK. Candidates for this role MUST be eligible for Security Clearance, ie you must have lived in the UK for at least the last 5 years.
You will lead a team of engineers responsible for designing, development, coding and unit testing each software element of the architecture. You will have a solid Java background with experience in J2EE, with a deep understanding of the software development lifecycle and demonstrable application of relevant methodologies and toolsets. You should have a proven record of design and delivery of systems for major database intensive systems integration programmes.
Candidates should be excellent communicators and leaders with experience of software validation planning and implementation and database design/development experience including XML. You will have a strong desire to succeed, with the energy and drive to maintain personal motivation throughout long-term projects. A degree in a scientific or engineering discipline is essential as well as experience of software development tasks on at least one major programme, and knowledge of the full Software Lifecycle.
Recent experience of managing a team is absolutely essential.
Experience of any of the following is highly advantageous: COTS IS applications, Portal and UI design, High availability design, Weblogic/Aqualogic, Service Oriented Architectures.
An excellent salary and package is on offer of Circa £70k (negotiable) + good company benefits. You will be based out of excellent office premises in Middlesex.
