Our client is a leading defence organization, they are currently recruiting for a RAMS Engineer in UK in their Portsmouth offices. The Central Engineering technical unit for RAMS (Reliability Availability Maintainability Safety) is part of the Data Processing, On Board Software & Dependability departments in UK, France and Germany. The function of the technical unit is to provide a central competence that meets changing need of the business. You will be required to carry out RAMS engineering activities in support to the Project System teams within the business units (ENS, S & T). with particular involvement in the following- Performing all required Project RAMS tasks whether at System, Payload/Platform or Equipment level. Support the updating of in-house Plans and procedures related to RAMS. Performing trade-offs and redundancy optimisation studies. Supporting the synthesis of relevant RAMS budgets. More specifically, the engineer will be required to perform tasks such as functional analysis risk analysis reliability, availability and maintainability analyses FMECA, HSIA, Fault Tree analyss safety assessment/hazard analysis the production of Reliability and Safety Critical Working knowledge of reliability software tools such as Relex would be an asset. The engineer is also expected to - Be willing to travel & work for short periods in offices in France or Germany. Participate in ongoing implementation of trans-national harmonisation of RAMS software tools, methods & processes. Participate in R&D activities. Participate in proposal bids. Manage their own time and budgets in accordance with project and department requirements. Qualifications and/or Skills - Engineering honours degree in maths, electronics, physics or other appropriate subject - Good awareness of reliability engineering processes (relevant work experience in the Space/Aerospace engineering domains) - Good communication & presentation skills - Effective at working in a multi disciplinary team - Results oriented - Strives for team & individual goals - Able to work with minimum supervision - Proactive approach - Openness and flexibility - A keen interest in space engineering To apply, please contact Gemma Humphries 02392 322328 or email ghumphries@strgroup.co.uk
