Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - South Coast
My client, a major technical engineering organisation on the South Coast are currently looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their global team. This person must be capable of fulfilling a hands-on design position whilst also acting as the Technical Design Lead (team size - approx 4)
Must have extensive experience of designing components using; complex injection mouldings, pressure die castings, sheet metalwork (CNC and hard-tooled/progression) and extrusions, and knowledge of the processes that produce them.
Overview:
Minimum 3 years experience in a Senior or Lead Mechanical Design role.
Mechanical Engineering or Product Design based Degree.
Experience of at least two major design projects as Lead or Senior Mechanical Designer
Ideally, a background in electro-mechanical products with a consumer or business bias.
In-depth understanding of process design constraints such as tolerances and the ability to produce detailed tolerance studies.
Knowledge of material capabilities.
Experience of harsh environmental requirements; Shock and vibration, thermals, EMC, safety etc.
