Operations Manager. My client, based near Brighton specialise in all aspects of Direct Fired Heaters and Waste Recovery Units serving the global market place in the Oil, Gas and Petrochemical Industries. They are now looking to recruit an experienced Sales Manager to be based at their premises in East Sussex. Operations Manager (Director Designate) required to motivate, manage and grow a highly successful capital equipment / worldwide operations / project engineering and procurement group in the South. Role description A strategic Operations management position with direct influence on the growth of a highly successful global business. As the lead driver for projects control across design, procurement, engineering, programme progress / scheduling and budget you will be responsible for a highly talented team of Project Engineering Managers and general engineering disciplines. As part of the growth strategy for our client, you will be a credible representative of the business and capable of forging strong working relationships in both a business, commercial and engineering context. Commercial knowledge, acumen and awareness of contract terms and conditions and their effect and implementation are paramount to the position. You will be expected to implement and maintain project monitoring and control processes to enable structured growth of the business in conjunction with the Finance Director. Reporting directly to the Managing Director with a very close working relationship with the Finance Director, you will be expected to present clear and objective results, problem solutions and ideas to the Board. Who were looking for A proven Project Manager background, you must be able to demonstrate experience of having worked within a prime contractor environment and within such fields as process engineering, structural engineering, instrumentation and control or structural modularisation. You will need to understand process plant equipment and complex systems and be prepared to overall manage and contribute to multiple £multimillion projects. Ideally you will come from the petrochemical, oil, gas and related process industries. Experience of major projects management within the naval, cap-ex plant equipment, heating and waste gas handling equipment is also welcomed. You must be able to demonstrate your capability to manage multiple major projects from concept through tender, manufacture and on to delivery and commission. Your ambition and drive will be rewarded as you grow with the company and your presence will strengthen the projects team. Your project management skills must include engineering credibility, financial control, programme management and team development.
